Many people seems to have a common understanding that in order to increase their productivity, new instruments and/or new personnel are required so that more samples can be treated at the same time. Almost all instrument manufacturers have never recommended their respective customers to purchase parts and other consumables from other sources. The main reason they normally put in place is always due to instrument performance. Although it may be true for some unique parts, majority of them have alternatives that deliver equivalent performance and reliability at a fraction of the cost.
